Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Experience with FERMEL, Magni, and Manitou equipment.
  • Additional training or experience with FERMEL, Magni Telehandlers, Manitou Telehandlers, CAT Skidsteers, and BOOYCO systems.
  • Existing TMM equipment licenses.
  • Training in Supervision or Management.
  • Underground mining experience and strong understanding of the mining industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems and TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery).
  • Excellent problem-solving and maintenance planning skills.
  • Proficient in workshop administration tasks.
Responsible For
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of mechanics and technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of trackless mining equipment and vehicles, both on surface and underground.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures and mining regulations.
  • Develop and implement workshop reporting processes.
  • Manage work permits and work orders efficiently.
  • Oversee inventory and materials management for workshop operations.
  • Review and coordinate maintenance contracts with third-party service providers.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Conduct regular inspections and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Manage and execute the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
Additional Requirements
Employment Requirements
  • Pass a mine DOVER test.
  • Obtain a valid underground medical examination and HTS result.

Educational Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs of trackless mining equipment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in workshop supervision.
  • Valid South African driver’s license.
  • Valid Trade Certificate (Section 13 or Section 26(d)) with statement of results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
